Spring Tulips

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

Spring is such a wonderful time of year. Spring means sunshine, sandals, and flowers. And one of my favorite flowers...tulips! Well, we got to dance through some tulips today. Ok maybe it wasn't literally dancing. But, still appropriate to write about in this blog right? This was our first time at the Tulips Festival at Thanksgiving Point and we loved it. Check it out if you haven't yet, it's beautiful!

Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Don't these sound and look divine? Well they are. As it turns out Nutella and chocolate chip cookies make a perfect combination. It can get kind of messy when making them but they turn out so good that it's ok. Try it out, you won't regret it.

What You Need:
1 cup butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1 jar of Nutella (you won't use it all)

What You Do:
Mix butter, and sugars until well blended. Mix in eggs. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and vanilla and mix together. Stir in chocolate chips. Chill cookie dough in the refrigerator for an hour. Spoon 24 dollops of Nutella on a cookie sheet and stick it in the freezer for 30 minutes. Chilling makes it easier to wrap the cookie dough around the Nutella.

After dough and Nutella have been chilled, you're ready to make some magic! Preheat oven to 375 F. Spoon out some cookie dough, flatten it in your hand or on the cookie sheet, place Nutella dollop in the center, and then wrap dough around it. Repeat until you're out of Nutella. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Enjoy the chocolatey goodness.

Moving + Zoo Day

Monday, April 11, 2016

We had a pretty busy week! Tyler, Lizzie and I finally moved into our new apartment and are very excited about it. I'm beyond grateful my parents have let us stay in their home for the last few months, but it's nice to have our own place again.

We decided to end our crazy week on a fun note and took a little trip to the zoo! Lizzie has been very interested in animals and making animal sounds so I have been looking forward to her first zoo experience. Sure enough, she loved it. She made all the appropriate animal sounds too. The highlight of the zoo for Lizzie was actually riding on the carousel. She was beaming the whole time. I wish I could have gotten a better picture of it. Bare with me, these aren't the highest quality pictures because I left my Nikon at home and, therefore, was stuck using my iPhone. Oh well.
