LipSense Review

Monday, August 15, 2016

I'm collaborating with my cute friend Jordan Sharp, who is a LipSense distributer, by writing this blog post about my thoughts on LipSense. I've never really been into MLM products, but when I heard about the lip makeup that stays on all day, I was intrigued. Well after trying it out for myself, I'm sold! LipSense lasts all day and doesn't smudge while eating, kissing, exercising, you name it! This makes life easier for me as a mom. I appreciate how low maintenance it is. I apply LipSense on once and don't have to reapply it for 8 hours or so (mine lasted about 9 hours today). Who really wants to reapply make up throughout the day anyway? I can go about my busy day while my lips stay fantastic. I also love that I can kiss my husband and my cute kids as much as I want without worrying about getting it all over their faces. That's kind of a big deal for me. These are my honest opinions, and I would recommend this product to anyone. If you want to try out LipSense for yourself, Jordan can take good care of you! Modest Shorts

Saturday, May 28, 2016

The weather is getting warmer which means it's time to break out the shorts! Unfortunately this can be a stressful time for any ladies wanting to stay cool and modest at the same time. It's difficult to find a cute pair of modest shorts. So, I have shopped around and made a list of places I have found to have modest yet stylish shorts. I don't have a picture of me modeling any of these since I'm still in preggo pants; the picture above is a just a pair I bought last year. However, once baby is out and I'm down to a descent size, I know where I'll be shopping for shorts this season!

New Dress, New State

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

Well we made it to Utah! It's good to be back and I loved the white Christmas we had! Although, I have to get used to driving in the snow again which is not so fun. We had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed watching Lizzie so excited and happy. I asked for a new dress for Christmas because my brother was getting married and I thought that was a good reason to get a new outfit. By the way, the wedding was amazing and I'm so happy for my little brother and his adorable wife! They are just the cutest couple. Anyway, I wore this LuLaRoe dress; I bought it from a friend of mine who has a Lularoe shop (check out Jazmin's LuLaRoe Shop on Facebook). The reason I chose this particular dress was because it stretches with a pregnant belly but will not stay stretched. I can wear it while pregnant and still wear it after I have the baby! It's simple, so I can dress it up in a variety of ways. And bonus for my LDS girls: it's modest. My dear "Instagram Husband" took these photos for me outside the Gilbert Temple in Arizona before we left for Utah. Oh how I miss that warm weather. Outfit details below

Dress: LuLaRoe
Ankle Boots: Lauren Conrad via Kohls
Necklace: Kohls
Bracelet: Charlotte Russe

2nd Trimester + New Boots

Thursday, December 3, 2015

I have hit my 2nd trimester! See ya later 1st trimester, I won't miss your morning sickness. I've been feeling much better these past couple of days, so I'm hoping the nausea is gone for good. If I were to love any part of pregnancy, it would be the 2nd trimester. I'm not huge yet and I feel the best during this time. So far, this pregnancy has been just like my pregnancy with Lizzie. It would be great if it stays that way because it was relatively easy with her all 9 months.

Since I haven't grown out of normal clothes yet, I've had a chance to wear some new pieces I got for my birthday. Yeah, I got new skinny jeans knowing perfectly well I'll grow out of them in a month...oops! Fingers crossed that they'll still fit me after I have this baby. At least I can keep wearing the new boots! Here's an outfit I put together the other day.

skinny jeans - Forever 21
I love these jeans, they last a long time and you can't beat the price!

faux leather jacket - Nordstrom
shirt - Bohme

ankle boots - Lauren Conrad via Kohls
I love these boots! They're comfortable, easy to walk in, and match almost everything.

Birthday Weekend

Monday, November 23, 2015

I turned 25 on Sunday. I hate when my birthday is on Sunday because we don't go out or anything but the the upside is I got to celebrate on Saturday as well, 2 days instead of 1! Tyler always does a great job at making me feel extra special on my birthday. On Saturday we went to to see the new Hunger Games movie while we left Lizzie with some friends of ours, they're the best! It was nice to have a little date, just Ty and I. After the movie, Ty put Lizzie down for a nap while I went to get a manicure. I never pamper myself so it was really nice to relax and get my nails done all cute. What do you think?

We went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner, delicious! It was a fun day. On Sunday Ty got up with Lizzie so I could sleep in and made breakfast. Instead of asking for a fancy breakfast, I just wanted blueberry muffins. And that is what I got, yum!

We went to church but had to leave early because Lizzie was super cranky, boo. In the afternoon we took Lizzie to the park; it was a beautiful 80 degrees outside!

Outfit details:
shirt - Charlotte Russe
skirt - Forever 21
peep toe pumps - Jessica Simpson

Ty made dinner that night and even baked me a birthday cake! What can I say, I picked a good hubby.

It was a fantastic weekend! I'm truly grateful for amazing family and friends who thought about me on my birthday. 24 was a good year, and I'm sure 25 will be even better.

Casual Weekday Outfit

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

Just an outfit of the day post for ya! One of my dear friends was kind enough to give me this top. Chambray has been popular this fall, and I like it! It can be worn in many ways, but I mostly like to wear it with leggings. And boots are always a good idea. Outfit details below.

Chambray top - Target
Under shirt - Down East Basics
Watch - Guess
Leggings - Athleta
Boots - Forever Young Shoes

Graphic Tee

Friday, October 23, 2015

I love having graphic tee's to wear on days when I don't have anywhere special to be but will be out and about doing things like running errands and going to the park with Lizzie. They're casual but still really cute! You can still dress it up too by wearing a necklace and/or a jacket with it. Here's one I got from Old Navy - on the clearance rack, baby! I love finding good deals. I wore it with a necklace from Target just to add more to the outfit.

Maternity Shopping

Friday, May 16, 2014

Shopping for maternity clothes has been a whole new thing for me. I searched online, asked friends, shopped around and have now decided to review the stores I've shopped at. Some places were a success whereas some were less than satisfactory. I hope this helps at least a little for those who are on the hunt for cute, affordable, maternity clothes.

1. Old Navy -  I was referred to Old Navy  by a few friends; I checked it out for myself and was very pleased! I especially like their tees and jeans. Their jeans (pants, capris, shorts) are very simple, but they fit nicely. For those of you who like to shop online, I haven't had a problem with their sizing but I have heard some say that their maternity pants run a little small. Just something to consider.

2. Ross - I was pleasantly surprised by Ross's maternity section. I went in not expecting anything special, but walked out one happy preggo lady! Since it'll mostly be warm/hot throughout my pregnancy, shorts are a must. I desperately searched and searched for shorts that were modest enough and was having no luck until I finally checked out Ross. I found shorts that were modest, stylish, AND freakin cheap. They also have a good variety of maternity tops.

3. Target - The tops I have found at Target have been really great. Not just t-shirts, but tunics and nicer shirts. They also have cute maternity dresses and skirts. When it comes to maternity swimwear, however, I would look elsewhere. They just look too old lady-ish to me.

4. Motherhood Maternity - Obviously, you won't have a hard time finding a good variety of maternity clothing at this maternity-specialized store. Since it does specialize in that one type of clothing, it's a bit pricier. If that's not a problem for you, then perfect! You're bound to find something you like there; they've got plenty of nice clothes.

5. Kohls - maybe I just didn't have good luck when I went, but they hardly had anything to choose from when I shopped there. All that was good were some v-necks that came in different colors and stripes. They do have a lot more available online so check that out!

6. H&M - I love H&M, I really do. But I don't love their maternity section...in the store at least. Again, another place where you'd have more luck finding maternity clothes online because they were seriously lacking in the store. They are inexpensive which is always fantastic. And...they have adorable baby clothes! Just wanted to add that.

I hope this was somewhat useful. Happy shopping!

Spring 2014 Fashion Trends

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

I decided to compose a list of a few style trends for this spring - just if you need any help deciding what to add to your wardrobe this season!

Sandals
I know flip flops are comfy and all, but why not have cute AND comfy? These are just some ideas of some cute flat sandals that are trending this year.

"Thong" sandals are still a big thing so make sure you get a pair of one of those! Metallic and bright colored sandals are what you'll find most of this season.

If you want to dress it up a little more, a wedge sandal is the way to go! Orange and coral are popular colors this year but you can't go wrong with nude either! Although it's a heel, it's easy to walk around in unlike other high heeled shoes.

Blazers and Cardigans
Spring means warmer weather but it is still a little cool, so blazers and cardigans are a must.

Longer cut or cropped, a blazer can dress up any boring outfit. I personally like the cropped one (right) for springtime since it covers less. Among the always popular whites and blacks, I've been seeing a lot of different blues this season in blazers.

Dresses

Maxi dresses are a must this spring. Looks really cute with a jacket or cardigan over it as well!

Floral print is hot this spring, especially in dresses. I've been wanting to buy a new dress and I think I know what design I want!

Scarves

Put away those thick winter scarves and make room for spring scarves! Still a popular accessory and obviously available in your favorite styles: wrap, infinity, square, etc. Scarves are a great accessory to enhance any outfit.

Hope this gives you some ideas of what to look out for next time you go shopping! Thanks for stopping by!
